First off, let me say that I cannot believe I'm blogging about Spider-Man. Again. Honestly, the only time I read Amazing Spider-Man is while surfing Scans Daily or looking over some else's shoulder. Now, the comic isn't bad. It's just a "not for me" book. I am clearly not the audience the creative team is aiming for here. And yet here I am. Blogging. Why?

Because I think Peter Parker is a douchebag.







The fact that Peter didn't intervene on behalf of Michelle or even acknowledge Norah's ethnic jabs irritates the hell out of me. I'm simply fed up with people who willingly let bigoted acts slide simply because they aren't pointed in their direction. And I will gladly end a friendship over it. How hard it is to simply utter "Not cool, man!" in a person's direction after he or she has said something racist? Two seconds out of one's life is too much? If Peter had enough time to offer coffee, he certainly had enough time to address Norah's nasty little invective. And he didn't.

Douche. For real.

Okay, just had to get that out. Last post about Spider-Man! Honest! Seriously, I don't even like the character anymore. Plus, it's superhero comics. What're ya gonna do?
